Our History

Hello, and a warm welcome from us here at Wild Bee Fuel.

We are delighted that you’re interested in our innovative product and that you want to know more about who we are and what we do.

With almost 20 years in the beekeeping industry here in South Africa, we are experts in all things bee, from hives to honey and everything in between.

We love to pass on our know-how and exceptional experience, helping people just like you to learn better bee and honey farming practices. We are also a leading brand and supplier of high-quality beekeeping equipment.

Like you, we care about bee health and conservation, as well as treading lightly on the Earth by using as many 100% natural products as possible.

So, how did we discover that rhino ‘poef’ (aka kak) provides such great beekeeping smoker fuel?

Well, we were looking for ways to provide healthier natural solutions to age-old beekeeping practices, at the same time seeking ways to support indigenous animals on the endangered species list.

White and black rhinos are now increasing in number due to the efforts of several successful conservation organisations and charities. We work alongside some of those, sourcing our Wild Bee Fuel product from protected animals, at the same time giving 10% of the proceeds from sales back to the rhinos.
